Halfway House, Brenchley

Here at the Halfway House we pride ourselves on great quality real ales served straight from the barrel and we are very pleased to receive recognition for this from CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale).

Unfortunately... Man can not live by beer alone.

We also offer a fine selection of home-made food using locally sourced produce. Whether it's an afternoon snack, a three course evening meal or a cheeky dessert.
Pop in on a winter weekend for a delicious Sunday roast in front of our log fire or come on a sunny summer afternoon and enjoy our beer battered hake and handcut chips in the spacious family garden whilst topping up your drinks from our fully equipped garden bar.

Whatever the occasion we are sure there is something for you.

Here is a list of answers to frequently asked questions about our Beer Festival.

BROCHURES. When will the beer and cider list be released?

We aim to release it as early as possible but to ensure accuracy it’s normally released around a week before the event. But don’t worry, the beers and ciders will be awesome!

Pick your brochure up in the week leading up to the festival from the pub.

FOOD. What food will be available and what times?

The kitchen will be serving hot meals and sandwiches each day. We will also have a bbq in the garden offering quality burgers and chips. We reserve tables inside for food but not outside.

TRAVEL. Where is the closest train station? Is there parking?

The closest train station is Paddock Wood which is situated 3 miles from the venue. Around an hours walk (uphill on the way) or an 8 minute drive. There is also a taxi rank outside the station.

There is parking for around 70 cars but this can fill up quite quickly so we do ask that you share lifts wherever possible.

There is also a bus (297) which will stop directly outside the pub but you do have to ask, it is an official stop but not listed on the website. Check bustimes.org for times.

DOGS. Do you allow dogs?

Sometimes there are more dogs than people here!

Well behaved dogs are very welcome but must be kept on a lead.

CHILDREN. Do you allow children?

Yes. It is very family friendly and we have a large play area.

PAYMENT. Do you take card payments?

Yes we do though we are unable to take card payments in the garden. We do however offer cash back free of charge at the bar inside.

We went today for their beer festival. A smashing pub and a well organised event. Despite the extra work of the event they were still able to serve a full menu with efficiency, courtesy and a smile. The fish and chips were ten out of ten. Don't ever change your chips guys. The two bands supplying music were excellent and top marks to the Rooster Boys with their country set. It was spot on. A really enjoyable day.
